The virtual Hop card for Apple Pay is now available, offering a convenient and efficient way to pay your fare on TriMet, C-TRAN, and Portland Streetcar. With a few simple steps, you can add a Hop card to your Wallet app and start using your iPhone or Apple Watch to instantly pay your fare. One of the great features of Hop is that you can save money by earning month passes as you use the service. The virtual Hop card is available for Adult, Honored Citizens, and Youth riders.

Using Hop is incredibly easy. Instead of carrying a physical card or presenting a mobile ticket to the bus operator, simply tap your phone on the green Hop reader when boarding a bus or train. Within a split second, you'll see a green checkmark and hear a chime, indicating that your fare has been paid. The best part is that with the virtual Hop card in your Wallet app, everything happens automatically and instantly. There's no need to open an app, choose a pass, or authorize your payment. It's quick and hassle-free.

With Hop, you can also save money as you ride. Instead of purchasing passes in advance, you earn them gradually as you make your trips. This means you get the benefits of a pass without having to pay the full cost upfront. Rest assured that you'll never pay more than a day pass in a single day or a monthly pass within a calendar month.

Setting up the virtual Hop card is straightforward. We'll guide you through the process of creating an account, adding a payment method (you can also use an existing credit/debit card stored in Apple Pay), and adding the new Hop card to your Wallet app. Once set up, you can use the Hop app or website to manage multiple virtual and physical Hop cards, review recent transactions, load money onto your cards, or set up Auto-Load to ensure you always have sufficient fare.
